Free Clinic

February 18th, 2010

The clinic is a series of free sessions conducted twice a month at the University of Houston Small Business Development Center near downtown Houston. The sessions are provided as a benefit to the small business community in the greater Houston area. They attract visitors from communities as far away as Baytown and, on a few occasions, from very afield like Indiana!

Clinic topics cover a wide range of subject matter, but the focus is always on understanding how to create and manage a website that will attract traffic through free search on the web.

The sessions are currently held twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. There is a class schedule posted for your convenience, which is updated on a regular basis. Information about prior classes is also available. Most classes are based on Power Point presentations, and that material is available for download for each of the classes listed on this page. For some classes, additional notes have been prepared to include points that are relevant to the presentation, but were not included for various reasons. Many of these notes can be linked to from the prior class page, but they are collected as “Notes from Classes” here.

A blog adds relevant information to the curriculum, and is in two sections. The original blog was created in Blogger and was maintained until February 2010. After that date, new content was added in this blog platform. An index the the old material is provided in the new blog.
